Windows Product Key...

.. Morning Chaps.

I wrote down the Windows Product Key when I first bought my PC. I cannot find where I put it.

On the sticker on the side of the PC, It has part worn, where we have been cleaning, so I can only see a partial key.

There is a way of finding out what your registration code is by looking through the pc, But - I can't remember what it is.

Does anyone know of the way to do it Please?

this might not be much help but if you click on your start button and goto search then type in oobe timer i think this is where the product key info is kept however not an expert so sorry if it doesnt work

Oh dam!

From what I read...

there are ways of getting it from the registry details IF you are running win95 or win98...

BUT XP and later.... has been changed.

(which would make sense to reduce pirate copies etc.. i spose?)

which is what these programs a meant to do..

which brings us back to FS suggestion...

"your best bet is to ring a proper Microsoft help desk! ; )"

better safe than sorry I guess!

or just dont use a copied version of windoze, I would never do that on my shed computer that I found on the back of harolds cart.!!! :^O:^O

If ya need a program to get your product ID and product key let me know.

We have a purchased product which extracts them from the computer - no worries of viruses or anything.
