Hi peeps,

I have a legit sticker with product key & a machine with this on, but I need to reinstall the OS.

I don't need the smart remarks about Windows etc. the software will only run under Vista or lower & the client likes Vista!

Anyone have a disk they could send me please, the one with the machine is goosed!

Thanks

Would you not need a brand new (never used) disc?

I was under the impression that a legit copy of windows will want to register itself to a specific machine and when it checks, would it not find that that serial number has already been registered and so refuse to install?

No that is down to the Product Key which I have, it is just the CD/DVD to repair the machine that is goosed.

So, all I need is a copy of the CD/DVD, which without a product key is just a drinks coaster.

sorry,

had a look, got most of the XPs , all of W7, but, no vista at all,!

strange, I thought I did have one, but, it was prob only the home one anyway,  :(

I have a vista business PC my son now uses it don't think it came with a disc though. If I can copy something from the PC I would though.

I thought this Marvo, which was why I asked for the version. I did, but, subsequent research says otherwise.

Trouble is I still can't find a suitable disk!

You could try saying something helpful!

You know damn well that some of the stuff that you & I mess around with will ONLY run under Windows.

Now this application will not run on anything newer than Vista.

The client is NOT going to spend the money to upgrade the machine & all their support systems, they simply can't afford it.

You know that scenario too.

If I can't fix it, I don't win the client, and they will try elsewhere, and probably draw just as much of a blank, until they simply ship the job overseas loosing the jobs in the UK!

So, I know what I would rather do!

I can find you an iso of most any Windows release but you're going to need a torrent client and you're not going to like the websites I'm going to send you to get it.
I have a Torrent client.

I have an isolated machine to run the Torrent client on.

The issue I have with that is a very narrow minded isp or two!

Trust me I've seen & visited many websites that are unlikeable!

I have XP and a key you can have if you want.

for some unknown reason I dont use windows,

I also think I have a standard vista key you can also have if you can get a normal vista home disc

I have a way  around that on my machine if you point me to a torrent and I can dropbox it to you if needed

I'll give you the torrent hash code to search for in that case then you can get the torrent file or magnet link from a source that's not censored.

Just thinking out loud here but you can also use the unauthorized KMS 'tool' to install your legitimate code into a windows Vista install that's done from another disk. Seeing as you have a legitimate license (I could never find it withing myself to encourage piracy) if you need the KMS tool then PM me a g-mail address and I'll send it as a solid RAR file to you. Only downside to this method is your antivirus may give you a false positive because of the way the tool works.

No guys, honestly I'm not a fan of piracy either, I am also not a fan of the way laptops are shipped without install disks.

When the burnt recovery media falls over the licence and machine are basically useless, that IMHO is just as criminal as piracy.

This machine has a genuine COA sticker and I would NEVER dream of asking for a COA code in public.
