Hi Sparky,

I will confirm this with the resident tomorrow and report back. It was definitely one of the 'problem' mcb's if that's what you mean, either 6, 10 or 16A. It followed the exact symptoms of the recall letter that Electrium sent out: 'Nuisance tripping'? Check. 'Overheating'? Check. All of which eventually led to the fire in question.

I have only just heard about this recall can someone tell what exacaltly it all about and what mcb's are effected and how to check if you have any faulty ones. Whithout waiting until they start smoking?

you check the date code on the side. dont have them to hand now, but a quick search will find you the recalled codes. only 6, 10 & 16A are subject to recall

I had a Steeple breaker with the same 16 amp RIRA code catch on fire we are now in the middle of an insurance claim as had to replace two consumer unit one off peak and one peak as both had fire damage as mounted next to each other.

Well I finaly received my packs from electrium this week, just got to arrange site visits now.

When you return the packs with the faulty breakers, do you have to provide receipts for the new MCB's installed? Ive got loads of perfectly fine MCB's left over after installing boards, I was going to replace the dodgy ones with. Seems a waste of money to purchase more.
