Cash don't make no difference still got to be certified, he will have to get the polish in.Batty
Shouldn't he wait until the job is finished before polishing? :D

I have to say I am with Batty on this point!

I assume, in order to verify the changes made are safe and correct, you will still be testing?

Or are we talking skipping testing as well?

If testing for your own safety & verification..

a few more minutes writing out a certificate isn't a major cost or inconvenience!

I would tell the customer whoever does the work should still test their changes to make sure they ain't gonna electrocute him or burn his house down! especially higher power kitchen circuits!

Personally I would test & cert & notify..

sleep peacefully each night! :) :z :z:z

as for cost? it don't sound to bad to me? ?:| :|

e.g.

the job I am starting Tomorrow is quoted approx 1.25 days work,

new supply for underfloor heating.

new light position & switch.

replace 6 existing ceiling light fittings.

Replace fault light switch.

investigate problem with extractor hood not working.

agreed price

Always give certs, regardless of whether customer wants one or not. To do otherwise is foolish and you deserve any misfortune that may arise from it.

I agree with special, quote is too cheap.

So that makes it ok not to issue a cert then?

Always cover your rear, if they bin it, that's up to them. As andyc pointed out, you still have a copy.

if they want to bin them, thats their problem. you have done your part and issued it. if anyone does later say 'you never gave certs etc', just remind them that they did bin them and you can get the copy.
