  OMG !   Don't think he'd be there long with you pair badgering him TBH.     I think the nature of the job pushes them on until they find something you've omitted or forgotten .

Many years ago on an NICEIC inspection the guy spotted a 2 X 2  trunking flanged off a 3 X 3  ,  our sparks had cut a grommitt strip to shape ,placed it by the flange , think he was waiting to get some mastic or whatever to glue it in place . 

The guy pounces on it as a non compliance ......a trunking hole without grommitt  strip ....  record it... not interested that it was obviously there waiting to be fitted.
