Bin is a linux directory under root

http://www.linfo.org/bin.html

Is it only on the HDD - i.e. was it copied to the desktop (in which case it can be deleted) or was it moved ?
Cheers for that, duly scoobed. There isn't an obvious Root directory because of the Windows skin. Not sure on the copy / moved but thinking I can look at the other Zorin install on the desktop to see where it should live. So, typed root at terminal and it's installing things.........wish I knew what I was doing!

EDIT: Have searched HOME and the only place bin appears to be is the Desktop so my money's on me having moved it!

.bin is where certain files are keep for the system to work properly, I think.........

.bin is an extension of a file type, much like .pdf but not the same , if that makes sense,  :|

sorry I cant help much more,

i just run vanilla Ubuntu, or edubuntu, or a couple of other vanilla distros,,,

yep, thats where it should be,

notice its NOT in /home, or /media where you would be changing things,

its somewhere you shouldn't be messing with, unless you know what you are doing really well, so dont ask me for help with anything in there,  :C
