hey guys,

Not got much experience of three phase work so this may seem fundamental...

but jus quick question about how to test these-

Got a three phase socket outlet to test- want to take Zs of the socket, which is supplied by an isolator/starter,

Also how do you test for phase sequence? (assuming that phase sequence and phase rotation ate the same thing??)

thanks guys.

3 Test for Zs L1 -CPC, L2-CPC, L3-CPC.

All should be much the same

Phase rotation requires Rotation tester

Simple rotating wheel with arrow on it if it goes the right way its ok if in reverse then swop over two phase connections.

great thanks,

sorta thought that but thought id check.

for the phase sequence, does the meter have labelled probes? i.e. L1, L2, L3? so you know which phase to out them on?

thanks.

phase sequence is not the same as phase rotation.

phase squence is making sure L1 at the board is L1 at the end. same for 2 & 3. rotation only checks the rotation is correct. you could have all 3 swapped, it would pass rotation, but not sequence
