For some unknown reason the OP PM'd a reply to this thread directly to me?  Copy below;

sorry for brief lack of info statement. My son just recd. EICR  with FI obs. so thought I would check around for possible causes before travelling to investigate. reported as no ZS on lighting circuit. first thought was cable break. tks .for any info

so if  if you don't know the possible causes how are you going to find the cause? In order to find the cause you invariably need the correct test equipment which, if you have, then you would know the reasons and how itis used to isolate the issue

if he has the test kit then surely he knows how to use it?

I knew there had to be something behind your calmness this evening, perhaps the present wife ought to have lady Flu more often? (Well we all know it’s not as bad as man flu so it’s not like she’s on deaths door- she’s probably got what is men call a runny nose)

Not even runny just a touch of nasal precipitation....certainly doesn't warrant 3 days off work
