the BRICK countries - Brazil, China and India. There's pros and cons to everything, but I am with Apache EU contries (Germany inparticular) sell more to us than they buy, even if we left EU, they would want to keep that going. If we left the biggest problem would be the transition period, amounsgt which would be lots of negative equity for homeowners, but then thatmay mean ordinary people may be able to buy a house in the first place. TBH I don't know enough about macro economics to give a properly reasoned argument for change, but I do know small companies are more 'nimble' and so would be an independent UK. Upside of being part of a big club is shear clout on the international stage. Biggest immediate threat would be banking sector, would all the money leave and go elsewhere?, we would definetly be a bit knackered short term if they did, not that I'm any fan of banking

I dont think banking would suffer, maybe the opposite,

look at the Isle of Man,

they have made the banking sector work for them simply because they arent part of the EU,

but, maybe part of that is being a crown dependency and the UK are part of the EU

I dont know enough about it really,

would leaving the EU really be that big a blow to trading, we would still be in the EEC, which is meant to be the trading side of things, the EU is only the legisative side of it

trouble is the winkers at Westminster seemed determined to give us an 'in - out' option only, at which point the EU might get a bit annoyed and just shut the door. Just for once it would be nice to have an real choice, in , part in or out. As it happens they would be £8.5 billion worse off plus trade deficit is in our favour. I can't really see it making that much difference once the dust settles, but then I don't quite know how the winkers at the top do business.

I tend to reach for the remote if he appears TBH  Ducky .................along with the Lemon man.

I voted for entrance to the "Common Market"   back in the day .   We were told it's just a trading thing .....there will be this huge market in which to sell our goods .    Our cars will be selling to bigger market   !!!   What cars :C     Who would want them anyway ?      Rover ?  Austin ?  Morris  ?  Hillman  ? Singer ?   LDV Vans ?   Commer  ?  Wolseley ? Reliant ?  Triumph ?

Di\dn't we have to wait to wait for De Gaul to die & stop vetoing our efforts to join ,    another great friend of this country  ..Not

I'm telling you , in the 60s we didn't even know how to pronounce the name Peugeot  let alone see their cars on our roads .

Deke, yeah the guys annoying and largely incoherent BUT... He does have some very good points on British politics and how we put up with this crap because there isn't a better alternative!

The Germans failed to take over the world in ww2 so they decided to do it with cars and appliances instead, as did the Japanese... and now the Koreans

Anyone here drive a (modern) British car? Or own any British appliance's???

It was on the news tonight that the immigrants come here as we are a soft touch with regard to benefits.

Just when is some government or other going to make it so that benefits are ONLY for British Citizens?  Not rocket science it is?

he doesnt HAVE to pay,

he could tell them to stick their silly little club,

how much do we actually give them each year,?

and hoiw much do we get back?

look how they screwed Eire over,

Eire made millions out of them for a LONG time, and then they made them bankrupt overnight by the clause in their agreement that they had to adopt the euro,,,,,,,

If Cameron is REALLY that adamant that we won't pay, and REALLY that frustrated that if we don't pay then they will take it by other means, then FFS give us the in / out referendum so WE cam make the decision.

Ahh, now, Prodave.... That is just it, THEY WILL NEVER HAVE A REFERENDUM. If they do, it will be rigged. THEY WILL NEVER LEAVE EUROPE...

Trust me on this, this is why they think THEIR future lies, they do not care about us OR this country, just lining their own pockets. Remember how someone recently introduced a private members bill to have a referendum and they [cameron the buffoon and co] blocked it totally.

john...

now John,

you cant totally blame cameron,

#how many times did cherry [i know its spelt wrong] blair promise us a referendum,

did her husband actually ever do it????/

of course he didnt.

she wouldnt allow him to,
