    Ring Final In 4Mm

If it was, Noz, the cpc would be a three-wire stranded. Metric is a single wire. The OP hasn't given us that info, though

    Ring Final In 4Mm

If you've measured an end-to-end, then it's a ring. Nothing wrong with 4mm rings on a 40A except that the cpc is still only 1.5 so might limit the length a bit. Also, spurring might be a tad difficult, trying to get three conductors in the terminal.

    Cablecalc+ Megger App

Fair comment, Steve, but I for one would rather leave the phone at home and let the Mrs take calls on the landline. Constant interuptions are the bane of my life. Many a time I've been tempted to toss the mobile in a bucket of water. And thanks for the info on the 1730, i've seen mixed opinions...

    Cablecalc+ Megger App

I'm a technophobe. I think iPhones are over-rated, over-priced gimmicks and although I own and use a Megger I am getting more dissatisfied with it at time goes by. When it comes to replacement time (near future) I will be asking opinions and researching the rest of field.

    Cablecalc+ Megger App

Well done, mate, my thoughts entirely. I see someone decided it was an important enough piece of information to lower your rep, though. (The "sad" smilie has been removed).

    Scoobs And Likes...

I see that, as promised, scoobs and likes have merged to a single, clearer button. Now, I've probably been doing this wrong but I always thought that "likes" were for when something made you chuckle / laugh or for when you agreed with a persons opinion for example, and that "scoobs" were for...

    Does this pipework need bonding?

OK, mate, sorry. Just couldn't see the relevance to the OP. My bad.

    RCD tripping

I find that hard to believe. RCD's don't trip when there is no current at all going through them.

    Does this pipework need bonding?

OK, apart from a few off-topic asides, this thread seems to have run its course so Anybody ready to commit to a reply yet? I will say that I did provide an additional (main) bond to the new pipework. If I have created a problem, I can return and remove the bond. I do have reservations because...

    Does this pipework need bonding?

Just to recap, the tee is external and there are now two separate feeds to the house, unlike the situation that ADS has where he can bond before the tee inside the house. Moving the bonding to the outside, before the tee, is not how we would do it hence the question.
