    Opinions Please..

Seen similar units to this used in theatres and by touring sound/light companies to supply stage power. They tend to be in shatterproof rubberised enclosures though, and use RCBO's. Looking at the picture this one appears a bit flimsy. Would over current protection be at the dist. board?

Moving From Event Lighting Engineer To Electrician - Advice Appreciated

Hi there, I've moved from industry to domestic recently, so can give you an update on my experience pre and post self employed if that might help... 1) I've not had an average day so far. You may well start off with what seems a simple test/fault finder and end up chasing a wall to put it...

    How To Get Work Experience

Hiya. Glad to hear there is some young blood interested in our trade! I would echo what the other guys said, and advise your son to contact local electricians and basically "state his case." Young cousin of mine found his electricians apprenticeship by doing just that. If he is polite and...

Three Phase Air Con Unit On Single Phase Mcbs-Help

Hiya, Reg 431.1.1 (page 79 in your green book) might help in any FM discussions as this specifically mentions the case of three phase motor protection. It's not an absolute, but gives more strength to your argument.

What Type Of Car/van Do You Use?

Thanks Binky. Nearly caught out with an old Sprinter that's going cheap. Good enough van, until I remembered I will be working within the London Low Emission Zone. 1998 Sprinter not compliant, and it costs £100 per day if I did use it!

What Type Of Car/van Do You Use?

Hi guys. Wonder if I could throw out a general question? What's your experience re the most reliable van? Been trawling the used van sites and dealers, but opinions vary wildly. Used Trafic/Vivaro are pretty cheap, but some reviews describe them as piles of you-know-what!
