    Board change with economy 7

Is it necessary to put the NSH on RCD or RCBO's at all? I would say that 80% of NSH installs that i have seen are usually either trunked or are sat on top of skirting so no RCD or RCBO would be required.

    am2 OR nvq3 ?

Don't think they have to do AM2 anymore. Approved electrician would be a nvq3 or equivalent for the older members + 2391.

Popped my cherry - and used my first Wago connectors

So are these just usable as a connector block for in the back of switches and spurs? Or have they got some inside some sort of enclosure like a JB? Never used any of these before.

    Fixing backboxes to old brickwork

Bonding plaster is the best thing for the job. It dries in no time and you don't even need to fix the boxes after.

    makita drill ltc204w

I've got the Hitachi 10.8V set of drill driver and impact driver. They are superb bit's of kit and i now never use a 18V drill. I use the impact driver to drill holes in wood joists and it goes through like butter. The screwdriver drill is great as it's so light you can use it all day and it...

    cowboy builders channel 5

Was going to start a thread on this after watching the programme. The electrician seemed pretty clueless to me. It seemed he was saying that bare twin and earth was dangerous to the light. Although i agree that it should of been the rubber flex how many of us actually use it? It came out of the...

    Crabtree Rep

Crabtree terminals are no longer both on the bottom. Just the Neutral now, they have also gone significantly downhill quality wise in my opinion.

    Chrome Accesories

Can someone tell me how much the electricfix catalogue are for a double socket? Anyone recommend a different chrome socket. These are for me not for a customer so i'm looking for them cheap!!!

    Chrome Accesories

I have criticised Crabtree accessories recently but their platinum range are excellent. Problem is, is the price of them! Double sockets are like

But to comply with law you must follow BS7671.

    Regs. Relating to Renewable Energy

Where what? Part P hasn't superseded the regs yet has it? Apprenticeship done in late 90's, not like it makes any difference

    Regs. Relating to Renewable Energy

But my test only covers the fixed installation. If i felt it necessary i may put it down in the exclusions. When i did my apprenticeship i remember the tutor telling me complying BS7671 was my only defence. I now that part p has since come in but to comply with part p i must comply with the...

    Regs. Relating to Renewable Energy

So it bears no relevance then, when i do my PIR. I'd like to know how anyone could come to be in any trouble because of it.

Is part p, part of BS7671?

    Tool boxes and contents

I've been using the wera screwdrivers for a while now. I get them from Toolstation. About two thirds of the way down. I've now shifted onto the Stanley fatmax ones. Seem really good to hold and comfortable. I'd like to get the old Bahco ones the red and black ones but the sets are like

    Regs. Relating to Renewable Energy

I am of the opinion that if it originates from the DB it is fixed wiring. If it is plugged in then not. You have to unplug everything to do a test don't you? Surely at that point it becomes not part of the installation.

    That's a good idea.
