in my opinion and experience, report it to DNO as being above the allowable 0.35ohms and wait as they tell you 0.47 is fine! It's still well below anything to worry about with regards to disconnection times but at least you'll have informed them and covered your arse.

Part P or Not Part P

your solicitor should be dealing with this for you and requesting the PIR be done by the seller at their cost! Thats what you pay your solicitor for! Remedial work needed after the PIR can be used as a bargaining tool for the purchase price of the property or agreed directly with the seller to...

NVQ3, How many on here havn't got it?

great response to my thread, thank you all. It seems that the general concensus is not to worry too much about getting the NVQ3 although as i'm already enrolled onto it and if the relevant jobs come in then I might aswell try to complete it. cheers.

NVQ3, How many on here havn't got it?

I would think if it was in Electrical Engineering then yes but then again, the NVQ is work / site based not classroom based.

    Testing someone else's electrical work

It doesn't Clarify not being able to do 3rd party EIC's. Personally I wouldn't do a 3rd party EIC for anyone I hadn't worked with previously but can't see the problem with doing one for a colleague that you trust his work is up to standard.

    Testing someone else's electrical work

IIRC NAPIT allow 3rd party EIC aslong as you do a 100% (or as close to as possible) inspection of the installation and have both public liability insurance AND Professional Indemnity insurance too.

Had my own business which I sold for a change of direction in life and had a bit of capital gains that needed re-investing. Always enjoyed electrical work so it was the natural progression for me really.
