Nest Heat Link and Thermostat Y Plan

As per my comments, it is not a straight swap and the room stat needs to be wired to something. The wireless room stat on the MiGenies is the main reason I use them and not the Nest. Reliability wise I've had no issues with either, but the MiGenie is half the price of the Nest, UK designed...

Nest Heat Link and Thermostat Y Plan

This is exactly why I don;t really fit the Nest, the wired or plugged in stat is a PITA. I fit the Drayton MiGenie by preference. The programmer simply goes in place of the existing programmer (backplate is the same, not that stupid tiny bit on the edge of the Nest) and the room stat is...

Kitchen LED lighting trips fuse every 2 weeks

I'd also go with the above, cheap power supplies with poor or no inrush limiting. I've installed loads of power supplies on 6A MCBs and this shouldn't be an issue.

Revo combined Meter cupboard & Fuseboard

Not those exact ones, come across a few similar in flats in Telford though. Been some years since I touched one so can;t remember the make.

Finally found a use for it!

Bloody hell, people tell me I go a bit OTT with fixings on plasterboard. There's more screw than board there!

Again, it is not always about 'most efficient'. Some people like the convenience of a wet system, I personally wouldn't bother with electric heaters in my house if I was all electric, I would also go for the electric boiler. People who don;t do what I would do though don't "baffle me", sometimes...

They used to be, in that old panel heaters like yours were very basic and the thermostats weren't terribly accurate. Storage heaters were more convenient and it took the load of the network in the daytime. Nowadays the panel heaters are more efficient in that they will use less power over a...

There are 3 phase supplies to most homes, although the 3 phase appliances are usually hardwired and all sockets are single phase. Electric cookers and larger water heaters are usually 3 phase.

Register? Just click 'I'll do it later'. They do all this, and make it almost impossible to simply watch a programme on catch up legally. I don't use Flash, haven;t for many years, so 4OD is out of the question for me. Simple enough to just grab an illegal stream though.

I would have taken great delight in cashing the stamp in and then driving the 11p to the office, and booking it to company time!

It wasn't about the heater itself being more efficient, it was the overall process being more efficient. Things like anticipated set points and variable heat outputs, weather compensation etc,

    Tonights fun and games

Well no, it's actually partly that but it ... erm... I mean, I have no idea either.

    Mr DIY strikes again.

I'm pretty sure there is. Yep, check.

I've seen them a few times, nothing new though, mostly late 80's/early 90's era installations.

    Water meters..

IME if your are 2 or 3 people using it normally then a meter would probably be cheaper. If you really want to you could fit your own and sample how much you use.
