Storage Heaters as PV battery dump

If you’re having PV then it would be well worth getting a MyEnergi Zappi 2 charge point (with hub) and a MyEnergi Eddi to control the feed to immersion

Following on from other members post about no rcd on lighting

The ESC best practice guide 4 says that it's a C3 so long as the supplementary bonding is adequate, if it has no RCD and Supplementary bonding then its a C2

storage heaters, circuits, economy 7 and economy 10

If you have 24hr circuits where you want a storage heater, just get them to fit a Dimplex Quantum RF and set the charge times on the heater to your E7 times.... they're also apparently very good at retaining heat when it's not needed

    When is Green not Green?

It's well known that the manufacture of an BEV has a higher carbon footprint than an ICE vehicle.... It's usually stated that the cross over point is about 40k miles after which a BEV is much better for the environment It's not a straight forward calculation to make though as both sides of the...

    Retired electrician

From what I’ve read you only have an earth loop and insulation resistance meters…… how are you planning on testing the RCD’s / RCBO’s?? As others have said, hiring or borrowing one that’s been calibrated would be much easier

    Trunking to flushed in box

It looks better if you carry the trunking on to the corner of the room wether that bit is being used or not...... never stop it !/2 way along a wall unless it's butting up against a surface mounted accessory

    Trunking to flushed in box

So.... can you drop the cable from the socket to just above the skirting board (in the wall) and run the MT2 bang above the skirting?

    Miss

Im afraid that a 54W power supply isn't anywhere big enough to power something that is rated at 850W I'd have though that you'd need at least a 1500W supply

Who says we don’t need fossil fuels?

How about the energy used to get the crude oil to the surface, transport it to the refinery, refine it, and then transport it to the fuel station…. as well as a lot of the chemicals used in these processes? as it stands currently EV’s are more damaging to manufacture than ICE cars, but after...

Who says we don’t need fossil fuels?

If you look as to how many people actually do that kind of journey you will see that those kinds of journeys account for an extremely low percentage of the journeys taken on a daily basis.... are we meant to ensure that every vehicle can do this kind of mileage when so few actually do it? ...

Who says we don’t need fossil fuels?

One of the problems that we have with the current battery technology, is range. Most of the BEV family car's being made at the moment just don't have enough!!!  250 to over 300 miles isn't enough for most of the population especially when most journeys are far less than 50 miles ....sarcasm...
