Afternoon all,

Could anyone suggest a supplier for a 3 gang intermediate switch in a polished chrome finish. Customer has varilight fittings at present so wish to match that as close as possible. It has been suggested I might be able to order a fitting to be assembled.

Any other ideas?

Cheers.

have to agree with you there monkey 5, click are very good, we have just finished a new build and all we used was click switches, modules, sockets etc

Of course this raises the question, Why do the manufacturers not produce such a thing? The physical size of the switch back is no different to a 2 way, what's the problem?

Contactum 2 gang intermediate has the switches spaced as the modules are wider. Manufacturers probably would not get much call for a three gang intermediate and if you really needed one a grid would be an option if you put the correct box in.

Three gang intermediate switches would be almost impossible to manufacture as a norm because of the unusual switching. The only way to do it would be by grid and a three gang intermediate would require a double gang back box.

Intermediates are only ever used when multiple switching is required in any one area ie corridors with rooms off, I have never seen a three gang intermediate ever used.

I have done a 3 mod switch with 2 way - intermediate - 2 way in Click mode. I can assure you that the intermediate mod is the same size as the 2 way mod. They do have metal standard and flat plate, think they are the define and delco ranges.

I appreciate there is probably little call for them and am hoping they can put one together for me. It also raises the question of why they don't offer the modules and plates in kit mode? I know what your going to say, "They already do, it's called grid switches". A standard switch module could easily be manufactured so as to allow on site assembly with the relevant faceplate. At least I think so. Anyway off to bed now, many thanks to all for your help.

Nearly all of clicks ranges are inter-changeable, to fit whatever modules you want in whatever finish you want.

Click do a intermediate which is the same size as a normal 2 way switch and you can fit 3 modules on a 1 gang

try here pages 6 & 7

http://www.scolmore.com/documents/accessories.pdf

and here for different plates

http://www.scolmore.com/documents/deco.pdf

you buy the plate and then the modules you want separate and make up any combo you want, once youve used then youll be hooked!

Click - just buy intermediates and a 3-gang 2-way then swap them out with the intermediates and you'll also have three 1-gang 2-ways.
