I've got a customer who has a mobile home who wants to add a fan to their cooker hood.. it currently extracts via a flat painted steel "hood" plate (built into the cabinetry) and a 4" hose to a vent..

now the only place I could put the fan is either outside or in the hood space.

Does anyone know of anything suitable as most are for bathrooms and not cooking fumes etc....

I will also have to concoct some way to fit a grease filter:|

Has the fan packed up then? In line duct fan should be ok, filter in existing hood should still do the job. Most new cooker hoods are 5" ducting 30 l/sec min.

There is currently no fan fitted.. it just runs on trickle...

My main concern with a normal bathroom in line fan is the heat that it would have to cope with being above the hob.. would the plastic cope??

I do have to keep to a 4" fan because the duct goes behind the adjacent cabinet and there is only 4" of space. I was going to use a CF fan though, just to get the flow up!
