any one done any work for A class uk ltd or eds electrical

i keep getting texts from A class although i dont recall contacting them

they are offering work generally maintenance and they reckon u get 50 percent of the hourly rate which is aparently 60 per hr

so u get 30 per hr

ive checked their website looks ok

but something seems a bit dodgy to me

has anyone got any experience with any of these firms???

the y dont want nothing upfront

they say customer is aware of price and the fact that they have to pay for any materials etc

u go and do job sent to u by text

the custome pays the company and they pay u 50%

sound a bit too easy to me but maybe im being pessamistic

Any company asking for money is generally a scam i think. Can't see what you can loose but i would read any small print to be sure its not going to cost you.

if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is

had a call from someonw earlier - wants a estimate for installing lighting in a warehouse. then he mentions that he is phoning on behalf of customer, and that to get any work i need to be registered on their site at a price of

the eds one sent me a load of paperwork a few weeks ago when i said id give them a try

i dont recall seeing anything about upfront fees

i didnt go with then cos i had to wait for a month to get my first pay cheque and i didnt have any funds to back me up i.e fuel and materials for the first month

i also noticed lots of little clauses in the contract stating they wouldnt pay for jobs not finished within a certain time frame

u had to be on site within an hour too

had an interview today with cumberland group

they do lots of work in mayfair hotels casinos etc

hopefully ill get that

i started with a solar panel company last week but they wanted you to travel sometimes for 2-3 hrs only could guarenteee paying 35hrs a week for the first month and you had to do two installs for 40 hrs

at the rate they were paying it wasnt worth the hassle

they only wanted to pay 4hrs per pv install and u had to fill in a lot of info on their laptop probably 3/4 hr to fill in per job

if no bonding in place had to do that aswell while u were there

just a joke really

another company trying to get us to do work for them for peanuts while they reap alll the rewards

oh, BTW, I do 2-3hrs regularly, I used to do it everyday, work is work, wherever it may be.

Kind of says it all I think - BBC - Watchdog: Rogue Traders: A Class UK Limited

Apparently this came on yesterday ( 14th Oct 2011 ) so I am trying to see if I can watch this on iPlayer as they do a playback for 6 days!

AClass UK Ltd, 1stCallKent and 1stAll

I saw this post and was going to contact them for some work but i think Ill avoid as it not worth the hassle or money to get tainted by "association"

They are con merchants and were on watchdog last night operating in Essex and London. They long jobs out and change rcds etc which do not need changing. Avoid this firm at all costs.

The man they sent was Cee-Jay, he spent the first half an hour fiddling about with the consumer unit without switching off the power

They are no longer giving work to Cee-Jay. He has also written to us and says he's trained and competent to work on live installations
wonder how many actually isolate the CU before removing the cover. i know i dont (most of the time)
