Like the title says,,, I almost started a PIR this morning......

CU mounted in a kitchen wall unit (on back board - again!!) ; so in I go with tester, certs and a couple of screwdrivers in pocket.. take cabinet door off and that's as far as I got..

Put my bloody back out (central back) - stacked up on brufen now;)

I've never had pain like it; can't twist or breathe deeply so I've now had to cancel my other jobs for the day.. headbang hopefully with a day of rest I'll be ok for the morning

Daytime TV is engineered to ensure sick people go back to work.

I've seen these Thursday backs before, apprentices hankering after a long weekend offGuinness

Get well soon Noz;)

Hi Noz,

Ouch! I do that from time to time too.

At risk of incriminating myself, I bought a weightlifters belt from Argos (NOT A GIRDLE) helped me get back to work sooner,

Alternatively, lager and a hot bath is also good, I find that alcohol is directly proportional to the amount of pain, ie more beer = less pain.

hope this helps

My Dad used a weight lifters belt for a bad back about 20 years ago... in the end he had surgery to fuse 2 vertibrae together (slipped disc)... he was really bad before he had his op - the only place he could get any relief from it was lying on the floor!!

Unfortunately for me it's a bit higher up than that - about 4" - 5" below bra strap height (I DO NOT WEAR A BRA - even though some might say that I should;))

Beer and brufen might help though!! - don't know if I'll risk a bath though (I might not be able to get out!!!)

in all seriousness though hope your back feels better for the morning

Sorry to hear that Noz, hope you can get back to normal ASAP. Any illness or health problems are bad news for anyone self employed. But just make sure you dont rush back too quick and make things worse.

Doc H.

Noz - can I recommend Ibuprofen & codeine. Available from chemists over the counter brands Neurofen Plus/Cuprofen Plus. Better than Ibuprofen IMO.

Hope you feel better soon!
