Oops, he seems to have left his glasses on the passenger seat, has completely missed the front door.

:slap that is all of us who are avoiding a return to the van.

I'm pretty sure its some kind of syndrome. either you take everything out hump it up to the job, by the time you get there after strangling yourself with tools bags up 5 flights of stairs the you realise you left the extension lead.

Or you don't take enough stuff and you have to look around the customers house for stuff to try bodge it. Finding an alternative to rawl plugs is a favourite.

The usual one for me in that situation is first ask the customer if they have a pair of steps I can borrow rather than going back to get mine.

I always try to make every trip to the van work both ways... Put something away, get something out..

It's just a PITA when you realise that you need something that you've just put away :shakehead

Rule number 3

NEVER go back to the Van Empty handed

Rule number 5

Always keep a small bag ( well I do ) containing

A few scews, M3.5 &4s, a few nuts a few Wagos,,a few washers, a few plug fuses, a couple of £1&2 coins , .( you never know), a few rawlplugs, couple of small, drill, bits, a couple of driver bits, a few odds and sods..it does not take up much space and can save a lot of gnashing of teeth

Just getting too old to keep, going back to the van

This is what you get when they have muscles between their ears; "But you said the rawlplugs were in the car..."

Its not often that Sod's Law is not operating  TBH.

Hence you think I'll leave the SDS in the van ,  I can drill the fixings for this with the battery drill .

Sod's Law states that when you get to the fourth floor the bricks will too hard or the battery will go flat after one hole.

Or take the SDS , don't bother with the extension lead , there will be a socket nearby .

Sod's Law says ...no there won't .

Or customer wants all the accessories replaced with chrome say,   easy -peasey just straight swaps .

Sod's Law states that the prat who first fitted them has cut all the wires really short and the terminals on the new accessories are on the opposite end .

BTW   Sod's First Law states that the electrician before you at the wholesalers has just cleared the shelf of the things you came for.
