Any Idea What These Are?

I found these 'tools' in my house when I first moved in over 12 years ago. Never brought myself to throw them away as curiosity as to what they are has always gotten the better of me. I've always assumed they are something to do with plumbing, do in reality I have no idea...

Not sure if you can tell from the pictures but one handle has the initials JPM formed in it.

Yes yes yes, Google imaged bed spanner and up they come. I also had what seems to be called a cranking spanner. So the question that begs..... what's a bed spanner?

Well you use a bed spanner!

Back in the day they were used for assembling the steel sides onto,the head and foot board. ( F good steel, I made an engine hoist out of some bed steel). Also used for tensioning the spring underbed lattice affair type thing.

Twas the victorian version of Viagra!.....up the tension and receive a better return for your drunken efforts!
