Hi Guys

Got to fit a load of halos tomorrow. Any tips on using my brand new armeg cutter re not hitting notched pipes/best format for drilling floor etc.

I am assuming that I'm going to need to cut a hole adjacent to ajoist drill joist and fish light to light.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I gently drill a hole to start and use a torch to see if a pipe is in the way if ok then cut the hole as long as you don't go to deep you should not hit a pipe. I have done a lot and touch wood have never hit one yet. If you go deep enough you can use a hammer to knock the last bit out.

Drill an 1/8th inch hole. get a piece of coathanger and bend the end over at 90 degrees to match the radius of the fitting plus whatever clearance is required. shove this trough the hole and rotate it whilst moving it up and down. if it does not hit anything then you are good to go. if not then you have a 1/8th hole to patch. simples .

and what do you do to make sure there is nothing below this 1/8th hole before you drill that?!

Pilot hole/coathanger idea sounds good.

Well off I go, if you see a new sky high fountain over th Irish sea it's only me and my armeg

Cheers fellas
