Been away for the week so cant add much more to what the others have already said.
(1) Be reasonably prepared fitness wise.
(2) You'll be taught as an infantryman first & foremost, then move on to trade training that you have chosen.
(3) Stick with it during basic training, some tasks seem pointless but remember it's all in an effort to get you pulling in the right direction as a team & to weed out the w*****s.
(4) Dont volunteer for anything.
(5) If you make it through training, you'll have the time of your life.
(6) Dont go p***ing your wages up the wall every week/month (thats what the recruiting sergent told me & I didn't untill I left 7RHA & went to Germany.........yeha party timeGuiness Drink:^OB-) )
(7) Learn to iron properly (take an iron to basic training the supplied ones were ****e + you can rent it out to other NIG's for extra fag cash)
(8) Just enjoy it , I can say it was the best thing I ever did.
If you want to ask questions go to the forum here (British army rumour service)& look under ARM/SERVICE you are thinking about (REME).
