Hey guys and ladies of course!

quick question without making it a long one! (Unless you want a big one of course :^O )

is it permissable to change cheap and nasty B&Q 12v downlighter fittings in a bathroom to IP rated ones if there is no rcd protection?

Cheers guys for confirming what I thought would be ok. Customer will be having a new consumer unit soon (hopefully ;) ) so didnt want to go down route of rcd spurs as a temporary measure unless required.

Yeah I would agree that its ok, like for like and an improvement on the existing ones!

I thought that things are not quite so strict in the green book about having to RCD protect everything you touch.
Wasn't even required under the red book...

Or Part P building regs.. as

Replacement, repair and maintenance jobs are generally not notifiable, even if carried out in a kitchen or special location or associated with a special installation.
para' b. additional notes of App Doc P page 8
