I require a decentish Blow Torch as some of the work im getting would be much easier with one. Anyone got any recommendations of a decent one that isnt going to break the bank.

Small roof repairs/tarmac patching generally things that need heating up and where its no practical to get a standard heat gun too. Possibly abit of pipework.

+1 together with a nice bottle of MAPP gas. Same as mine. Quickest plumbing joints ever!
never used MAPP with it, for what i use it for propane works well enough

if i used MAPP, it would probably burn the heatshrink off instead of shrinking it!

I'd go with the superfire2 also, but I'm not sure about using it for roofing repairs, I only use mine for plumbing, and it is excellent for that.

Not sure what it would be like for roofing and tarmacking!

Im working for a maint firm so only about 70% of my work is electrical atm, so i get some "intresting" jobs to do. Tarmac lays horrid if its too cold and most the roofing issues get temp fixed with flashband which works much better when heated.

I used it the other day with MAPP gas to do a bit of solar shield the other day......it went on real quick! If roofing then make sure you've an extinguisher handy (and you've planned your exit route!).

MAPP burns alot hotter than propane, would also not be used directly on the roofing materials.

I`ve also got the superfire 2 mate, with both propane and MAPP cylinders - outdoor or 22mm stuff - the MAPP is the stuff :)

( try not to breathe the vapours - MAPP is banned in USA as a carcinogen!!!!!

ALL hydrocarbon materials are Carcinogens mate, petrol, diesel, WD40, cellulose thinners, paraffin, oil based gloss paint, grease etc. etc. etc.

SO, I would not be TOO worried!
