I have just signed up to the BP bunker fuel card.

Cheaper diesel which i pay for with my new card. After 10 days they send me an invoice and direct debit from my bank account.

Only downside i can see is i have to use a BP station which is taking the bunker card.

has anyone else signed up?

Nope sorry mate, apart from the fact they would not take me, I can't think of a BP station anywhere near me.

Do you get discount off the pump price for using them?

I am a sole trader, and only had to get one of my wholesaler's as a reference.

i was told of the discount at the time agreed. There is no extra cost and its cheaper diesel, so nothing to lose.

it is run by BP (i think) not some dodgy company.

i only got the card this week and pin no today.

they sent me email today :

We can confirm the BP Bunker net diesel price for the week commencing 11-Aug is:

PRODUCT                               PRICE (PPL)

                BP Bunker                             109.67

i can only assume thats +vat, and for regular derv, i use the BP ultimate.

i am trying to check what the price is now as £1.09 sounds to cheap

(i have before worked out £ per mile and regular derv to ultimate it was around the same £ per mile but the van runs better with ultimate. my friend has a Renault van and has started to sound rubbish with normal derv but engine sounds fine with the ultimate)

I think thats a similar company to the one that were doing Texaco last year......

Sometimes they`re a few pence ( or tenths) cheaper - other times, Tesco were a lot cheaper - so it cost me MORE to use their card.

Then I had a client with a late payment - meant their DD didn`t go on time - £ 70 charge from them, which was the day their card got binned!!!!!

I never understand why it is we seek to find a garage with fuel a few pence cheaper, at the end of the day don't we just write the cost of fuel off as a business expense anyway, so contributing towards lowering your tax bill? So it may cost an extra pound to fill up are we really that tight? We probably waste more than that with our driving style if the truth be known.

We got 2 cards shell and Texaco thing is in the 2 years I've been working for these nutters Im yet to see a texaco forecourt :|

@Pewter forget the ultimate fuel just get some millers diesel additive it works a treat on tdi's, you can get it from frauds or cheaper online.

Stay away from super market fuel ;) but you probably know all this already.

I wonder if ultimate fuel would make any difference in my overloaded combo 1.3cdti ;D

few years ago it used to be worth using fuel cards, often 5-10p / L cheaper. not limited to a specific place either. these days not worth it unless you are using thousands of litres

When the dude on the phone told me about the card i asked about the BP ultimate fuel, im sure he said yeah no problem.

After getting the card i receive an email each week telling me the price of the fuel for the week.

I emailed and asked about the price of BP ultimate fuel and got this reply.

I can confirm Ultimate Diesel can be purchased on the BP cards.  Although in honesty BP charge us much more than the pump price to supply it. Not sure of the reasons why but I would expect around a 10ppl increase by the time the transaction makes its way onto your invoice. So in short  - only if you have to...

As i only use ultimate fuel the card is useless.

serious I'm running a pd130 at around 160hp & this stuff is great. ;)

Don't think your going to be converted though :(

The only time I've bought vpower in the last few years is to get free logo toys for wee duck ;)

Pd130 is the engine in me car, a 1.9tdi. they come in various flavours the 130 is the hp and pd bit means pump duse which is something boring in german to do with the injectors. PD engines are in anything vw up until a few years ago they are very reliable up 300k if looked after.

They have now sent me a card for getting BP ultimate Diesel, which will cost me pump price.

I get 10 days credit, funds deducted from bank and invoice sent to me.

Still have not used it yet.

Well i have used the new card, i get fuel goes on the fuel card. 10 days later i get an invoice and they debit the money from my account.

Not much of a gain over using my bank card.

I now have enough plastic in my wallet to sink an Italian ship.

I got Esso cards about a year ago, it gives me about 1-2p per litre off the fuel price and saves a lot of hassle with receipts from the boys. I went for Esso becuase there is a garage which is always good on price located within easy reach of my teams houses, and the 3 vans. I find it good, and Esso fuel is defo superior to supermarket rubbish
