Normally the new year starts for me with no work but next week there are three jobs booked in , refurbing an on-line broadcast studio at a law centre ,five days work.

Installing five X 6KW halogen heaters at a printers, also five days work. Two jobs at the wholesalers, one day. Can't even order any materials till Monday.

As usual , all need to be done at the same time, so its an eleven day week . Still thats par for the course these days, at least it kicks off in a positive manner.

How about you guys, slow start or in at the deep end ?

i have a few clients that need me to do some work for them, i just need to book them in... prob in total about 5 days.... but nothing else yet after that.....

Yes so far a busy January looks likely. Which is unusual, normally after a hectic November and December, January and February are slow and quiet.

But this year it looks like it will be busy. Still a few small jobs left over from the December rush to finish in the first week, calls are coming in for new jobs already, and a new build house to wire any time soon. Thankfully that new build has been delayed due to snow and slow builders. I should have started it in December but simply wouldn't have been able to fit it in.

Also a loft conversion and extension to finish, again delayed due to the cold weather.

Usually the start of the year is tight financially as lots of bills come in but usually not much money. Hopefully this year will be better.

this week i have to first fix for 20 spots and 17 dso for 1 customer, install cooker point and fit exstractor for another. i also have a chap that wants me to sub at least 2 days a week in jan.

looking up at the moment :)

odds and sods this month

i tend not to book big jobs in as my partner is an accountant and its January

so i run the house and kids and do lots of small cash jobs !!!!!!!

Not as good as last Jan but cant complain, almost everyday with work and a lot of 3 day jobs, could do with something for Feb tho just to calm the nerves!!

I've got about a week lined up but I'm happy to take it easy the next couple weeks anyway. Got a few bigger jobs to quote for later in the month but wont hold my breath.

Subbing at the moment to earn some money, council flat re-wires, factory unit rewires, that sort of thing. Nice break from domestic and moving furniture though.

January is on the way to being booked up for me;

Cu swap, change of tails & meb's.

First total re-wire of the year in a 5 bed victorian place.

A submain to a garage + cu / sockets / lighting in garage.

Remedials of a pir from last year.

getting busier, customer from last year just called me:

They've purchased another house to rent out and it needs at least a board change as well as some extra circuits.

Starting better than last year did :D :D :D

I've got a bungalow re-wire, nursery lighting re-wire and a few bits and peices aswell as my 9-5 (8-4.30). So all looking good, except I had an accident just before xmas, and my back still isn't recovering too well, so keep having to set them back.
