I need to run a power cable from a UK adaptor along a wall then onto the back of a door to power a ring video doorbell pro.  Is there a way to move the cable out of the way when you open the door ? (cable will be run on hinge side of door).

Yes. Look in security equipment catalogues. You can get a "door loop".  It's a length of very flexible armoured wire commonly used for release mechanisms, etc.
