common in rewires in flats to run cables ceiling level and put coving over it later

row a clout nails in wall, with some into ceiling at a small distance away (to stop cables falling out) holds cable into place nicely ready for plasterer to fit coving later

got the same problem in a house im quoting for now

it has the polystyrene stuff

i said rip that down i could chase or trunk it the put new stuff up

not that hard to replace

guy was well chuffed

poor bloke he had new carpets fitted without thinking.......
