Right then guys,

Im after some recipies/ideas for what to to with a marrow!

Basically, the school run a guess the weight for charity and our daughter guessed it spot on. (7.5kg)

So now im stuck with this huge thing and ive never cooked one before(will try to upload a pic if its wanted)

Ive looked online but everything seems to complicated.

Any simple but tasty ideas?

BUT..

when you do find a good one let us know...

Cuz we have got a 4.5KG Marrow given us by me wifes auntie!

And that is also on the pending file waiting to decide what to do with it!!!!

The head teacher did suggest making it into a soup and feeding the street!!

Mrs Spec Loc is a dab hand on the home-made soup front...

I am rubbish in the kitchen though..

I am good with the Bar-B-Q on holiday..

What sort of a woman has never cooked a marrow?

The thing with marrow is it doesn't taste of a lot. Don't freeze it or it goes to mush.

My favourite way is roasted stuffed marrow -

* Cut off as much marrow as you want to eat and peel it now!

* Slice marrow at 90

I am inclined to think some sort of soup...Mrs Spec Loc is a dab hand on the home-made soup front...

The problem with marrow soup is that it wouldn't taste of much! It would get it used up and as soup could be frozen.

You CAN BBQ a marrow - now sure if you SHOULD nor what would happen.....

We have had them for months as my mother and step father are keen gardeners not sure what the recipe is had it for years i know it has sausage meat and boiled eggs in it but if you do a search stuffed marrow or baked marrow loads of options come up heres one below.

All money raised went towards our 'help for heroes' charity, we had a huge funday which took place all day today! policemen, firemen, army cadets, airforce and local rugby and football players all took part in various activities. had a great day for a worthy cause

The squash family come in all colours and are basically the same when it comes to eating. I usually buy a cheap pumpkin after haloween and roast it

is one of the few worthwhile charities,

albeit I often think why do we have to provide for these good men & women what should be provided anyway.?

BTW

dont take my support as being thought of that 99% of these people are NOT heroes,

they are people doing what they are paid to do,

just because you get your legs blown off defusing a bomb doesnt make you a hero, you are paid to do that.

sorry if the truth upsets some people.

Any gas cooking device out of doors is IMHO NOT a bar-b-q...

its just an outdoor gas cooker!

BAR-B-Q = Hot coals, After the real flame has died down

following a stressful few minutes getting them ignited with matches battling against the wind!!
