Anyone got any thoughts regarding putting a C16A breaker instead of a B16A on a hook up point to allow for a surge from kettles etc to stop nuisance tripping? I personally don't think it is a very good idea, and was wondering what you all thought?

I know but I'm still not 100% happy doing it, anyway I thought the whole idea of camping was boiling the kettle on an open fire! :)

A kettle is a purely resistive load; ergo the load connected is constant. chucking a "C" curve at it won`t make a difference. I`d suggest the person who actually suggested this half-baked idea goes away and bones up on the basics, before they hurt themselves.

As a rule of thumb... you don't normally go using your home fast boil 2.2kw kettle in a caravan.....

a) more likely Calor gas... for those uses on a site, (or layby), with no electric hook-up!!!!!

B) If tis a lecktwick kettul.. it would be a low power slow boil jobbie...

Many site pitches are limited to 10A.. (some even lower @ 6A!!!!)

A lot of caravan stuff is 12v or Gas supplied due to point (a) above!

Lectrik more for charging to 12v batt & occasional low power items.

Said the bloke wots just spent 3 1/2 weeks in a caravan in a field not far from lands end!!

When i go camping i have a gas stove for the kettle, the 2.2Kva generator :innocent is for my Zeppelin, iPhone, ipad2, MacBook Pro etc :slap
I've heard the Apple battery lives are shockingly poor.............
