hey all,

can anyone recommend a decent, not hugely expensive software that includes all of the certificates needed electronically?

i have a set that i was given but they're rubbish and a bit frustrating. i bought another set from National Cert on ebay and they're not great either

i know Amtech is the general best but it's

You should try one of this forums sponsors, Tysoft, you could even win a copy in our competition, see the forums main page for details.

+1.

A lot of us on here use Easycert; it does lots of certs.

There used to be a trial version, not sure if that is still the case.....?

Value for money, I think its the best I`ve tried - which is why I have the full suite :)

Can you fill in forms like this without being a member of a governing body then?

Really? I've just completed 2330 level 3 and was thinking about whether to join nappit or nic, so I don't have to join anyone then and just use software ? Is that correct?

If you do any notifiable work you will still have to be a member of a scheme provider, or go through the LABC. It just means that if you wanted the software allows you to print onto plain paper, or over print forms.

Easy cert from Tysoft for me, also have the easy pat software.

The aftersales service is spot on from Tysoft.

Almost all electrical work should have an appropriate certificate written based on the model forms in BS7671. The various contractor bodies do their own version of the certificates with their own logos to help promote their body. But they are not governing bodies and cannot insist anyone joins them or uses their headed certificates.

been using easycert for a few years and think its really great and not all that expensive.

So if I don't bother enrolling under, let's say NIC for example, how much does it cost to advise the LABC as Manator mentions, if I do works that are notifiable?

Went to a ECA 17th update course the other day & they had a guy there from PIRForm which looked quite good & was only

I have Easycert, which is good

I emailed them last week to ask when they would have a amendment 1 update available.

Bearing in mind this wasn't sprung on them by surprise they won't have any updates ready for July 1st

Does the PIR cert only do what it says, only provide a PIR certificate? I'm after a variety, EIC, Mworks etc etc

Thanks

James

hi james,

its all certs youll need for domestic (pir, eic, mwc), ive used for nearly a year and will be renewing my subs when due as very impressed with it. simple to use and find old certs etc. i tried some off ebay first but got frustrated too, PIR form is what id recommend and at

As monkey5 says, the software was born out of the need for intelligent reporting whilst conducting a PIR (I believe). It offers all certificates, PIR, MW, EIC and also Visual Inspection Report too. Covers three phase, domestic commercial & industrial. As I understand it, any amendments made to the regs are included at no additional cost to us.
