I cant seem to find any further technical detail on this product.Lincat's website only shows brochures.

I believe that each fryer has 3 settings so that on initial start up it uses full power and heats the oil in 4 minutes. Wether there are 3 separate elements to each fryer or the control settings are just for temperature control i do not know.

Assuming I new supply is required another can of worms opens -- How to connect from a db to the fryer -- switched isolator required --and also this fryer is on wheels to enable cleaning behind it so what cable to use from the isolator?

db to isolator you could tube it plas. cond. isolator to fryer in kopex/sy cable leave loop for movement

Just been out with my clamp meter and measured as follows:

Fryer 1 = 50A

Fryer 2 = 50A

Fryer 1&2 = 80A and 32A mcb trips after 12 seconds

Each fryer appears to have 3 elements of 4kW

The instructions for wiring are very vague and I will be contacting the manufacturers for some clarity.

i thought so ,if you don,t have 2x3phase supplies available do you have

6xsingle phase ways spare .if so you could split the individual element into 3 seperate 4kw elements and feed each with its own supply and use 2 x 7pole isolators . you would have to check that the db can take the load

Should be on a single 3 phase supply really.

in an ideal world yes but if you don,t have 3 phase what you gonna do,only difference is if you run 3 single phases you would probally have to remove the star point and install neutrals to comp. the circuit.

There is no 3 phase supply to the village where the pub is.

This morning I spoke to Lincat's techies and the say 2 single phase supplies are ok if 3 phase unavailable.

The pub has 2 existing single phase supplies and I have told the landlord to get the main supply upgraded from 60A to 100A. It is fed overhead on what appears to be 2 x 25mm live and a single 25mm neutral.

My intention is to install new board with 2 x 45A breakers and then 2x 10mm cables to the fryer.

A 4 pole switch will be required for isollation purposes. I would be grateful if anyone can come up with a good choice for this switch.

Also is it possible to to get short lengths of 10mm 3 core sy flex and if so from where.

Thanks to all your inputs on this topic.

100A supply doesn't sound big enough if the fryer is taking 80A when it is on, they put glass washer and a few more things on and you could lose the whole lot.
