I seem to remember something about there now being a requirement under building regs for submain supplies over a certain rating to be sub metered, along with certain other circuits.

Anyone else heard this with regard to commercial/industrial isntalations?

Can't for the life of me at the moment remember where, I'm going to look up the Part "x" docs shortly.

Suggestions please?

i was involved in a refurb in part of a school where submetering was installed. I wasnt sure if it was correct as i thought lighting and power had to be metered separately.

One new builds and such like clever merlin boards were used two two meters in each one, apparently they cost a fortune.

Tis not cheap Woz, that's why I'm trying to be sure!

There are several ways of splitting things up, but in general yes, lighting, heating & power have to be seperately metered.

However, it may not be necessary on a rewire, I'm still trying to get my head around the relevant docs.

Recently done a refurb side. We used merlin gerin dual metered boards. Readily available as commonly used

I have heard about it and will have to install them in a job I have already quoted for, I have not even seen any pricing on them as yet.
