I've had a very boring night so I decided to bore my self some more and read some of the older posts on here and I was reading the one about torque screwdrivers and I noticed that you need a specific shaped screw driver for tightening terminals, I've only tightened a few but I only used my normal VDE Philips screw driver an it's tight so what's the difference?

Thanks

Bobby

There is a special driver for MCBs/ Rcds/ Main switches , never remember what its called TBH I have one , well worth it . Like a Phillips with a bar across .

Stuff the torque drivers.

I've got one, but hardly ever use it - I find my big phillips works better on most terminals these days, or large flat blade. Not sure if that's down to poor manufacturing or something else?

i thought they were called 'plus minus' screwdriver but no idea where or why i think that, i got one when i was in city.....changing broken rcd, guy passed it to me as pozi was in the van, when i was driving off it droped out of my pocket lol.

if any one has seen the niceic testing dvd you will see tony cable using one, his mate says "you must use the right screwdrive because its annoying when you keep slipping out when your screwing" and i, for once agree with him lol

I`ve heard `em called "plus-minus"; but know them as Modulo drivers.

CK do a set of 2 - small & large.

You can also get them in hex bits now :)

With regard to "the professionals" comment above - you may need one, in the same way that you may need a torque driver.

Have to admit, I use mine regularly now........would I have paid

Ive had a CK modulo for a while now find i works really well on MCB terminals and the smaller sized one is good for the RCBOs, Not sure i fancy spending

couldnt we just buy a forum one, and make sure there is a week between everyones assessment?

it would only cost 2quid each if 50 of us clubbed in[allowing for 2weeks holiday at chrimbo] :D

Wylex instructions state 'Use a PZ2 screwdriver'
