The generation meters I've fitted so far (not many admittedly!) are manufactured to accept seperate tails whereby you can take the outer sheath into the apperture for the connection and thus maintain protection of the conductor insulation.

This is not possible when using 4mm T & E etc so I've been installing an adaptable box with holes in the top, tight under the meter and passing the conductors through like that - are other people using similar methods?

Most I have seen just run a section of Plastic trunking and mount Isolators and Meter tight to it stripping T & E inside Trunking and bringing up conductors into terminals.

I`ve gone one better mate - I drill 4 holes in the top surface of the AC isolator; and mount the generation meter flush to the top edge......You can also put it above the garage board if you use one ;)

Thermalite...............try putting a Diehl Ako 3800S on one - they fall straight back off again (and I used 80mm Tapcons AND plugged the holes - no good!)

KME

4" #16 T40 joist fixings straight in,

my impact driver actually went on clutch! I didnt hold it to them though, as soon as it hit I released the trigger, was a Fronious I mounted that time.

I deffo wouldnt even think about a DIEHL on anything but solid brick/block.

Yea I also use KME method of placing above ac isolator space permitting. It saves you a bit of time ,without the need for all that trunking, depends also on the ac isolater used !!

Remember and seal your meter when finished..

It saves you a bit of time I dont see that it does, one big slot as opposed to being fairly tight within the constraints of an enclosure, without the need for all that trunking 14" ???, depends also on the ac isolater used !! I dont,

Im not an authorised meter sealer, so it would mean jack anyway.

I also do this, however, when this isn't an option, I use these:

Extended Terminal Covers

Extended Terminal Covers

Generally you can get a 20mm compresion gland in the bottom of it.

Sealing the meter was brought up when we completed mcs accreditation by auditor. So we always seal it. Does anyone else???

well, thats a good point db,

no, I dont,

in all honesty I didnt think we were authorised to, I was impressioned to think it was down to the DNOs first reading to do this, but, it seems that the first reading may be quiter some time...

I bought some plastic seal things years ago, back in the days of feeling guilty about the seal fairy, each tag has unique code so I can identify seal. Don't always remember to fit them, but as I understand it we should fit a seal of some sort to the Gen meter to prevent tampering.
