Todays job was to provide TV distribution to 6 rooms and fit TV to wall.

Customer has bought all the materials including a 15m superdoopa HDMI cable (£70.)

Unfortunately when lifting tv to wall caught the HDMI plug on the bracket and its knackered.

Anyone know if a new end can be fitted and who can do it?

Unfortunately not. It's a 19 core cable. Even if you could buy a spare plug are you that good at fine soldering?

A tip. TEST the cable before you install it. I installed a 10 metre hdmi cable once. I'm absolutely certain the cable was not damaged, but it didn't work and had to be replaced which was an absolute ****** to fish the new one through.

Tip No 2. the CHEAP long hdmi cables from cpc work exactly the same as the expensive "hi fi" shop ones. About £10 sounds about the correct price.

+1 Dave with tip 2

& much the same as Steve but I slap a bit of gaffer tape over the ends.

We do a fair few shops these pawn shop places won't mention the name we fit a lot of these hdmi cables they insist on a brand LIndy

Some are upto 15 m in length and as Dave says test it before u install it as ivehad a number that give a signal
