Creda 70178L fan heater

Hello everyone.  I recently moved into a non-standard build/LECA plan flat which has a number of storage heaters and a shocking energy performance certificate rating (F).

I was told by the seller that the one in the lounge (see title) never worked for him so was wondering if any one could give me a few pointers as to common problems with this very old heater.

common problems are the thermal link, thermostat & faulty elements. reasonably easy to diagnose with a multimeter

Thanks Bluetobits,  yes that's what I found too, but in finding that I found this site by accident  I think its probably about 46 years old.  Flat was built circa 1970.

careful for asbestos. its not on my list of heater known to have asbestos or be asbestos free
