Hi,

What are the most popular crimps used?

Yellow

Blue

Red

Bullet

Push On

Fork

Ring Lug

Butt

Cheers

Them sets which include some of everything aint much good really if only use few of them so was wondering which are most popular.

Thanks in advance

Straight through crimps in blue and yellow .

Ring crimps in blue and yellow.

These would be the most widely used, don't bother with the kits , you will have loads left over you never use.

though it might be an idea to buy a kit first, then you have most of what you are ever likely to use, then replenish as required.

BTW, Im not sure if bullet crimps etc are rated for 230v AC, I only ever use them for ELV DC.

I only tend to buy blue and yellow butt crimps, but I have in the past bought blue ring and fem spade crimps; and yellow ring crimps..

Out of those the fem spade crimps are the least used - only used them on 1 job to replace a switch (or thermostat???) -- customer got billed for the bag full though!

has any one had any bad crimps, i had some yellow butt, got them from b&Q:coat, was picking up a towel rad at the time and remembered i did not have any, surprised they sold them but i thought cant be that bad. every one pulled off:(, unless i was doing something wrong? not had that prob befor.

Used to be...Now blue for cheese and onion and green for S & V
How long ago? As far as I remember cheese & onion have always been blue.

Sorry Matty your serious thread about crimps has been seriously hi jacked!
I was just thinking that!

On a topic related note, why does no-one use red crimps?
