collected my camera yesterday

same problem.... got to for repair again

 
Ask them for a full refund as it is obviously "not of merchantable quality".

 
If it's under warranty, Currys/Dixons USED to have a 28 day rule in that if a product was in their hands for 28 days or more for repair, the customer was entitled to a new product (with a new 12months guarantee) or a refund. This policy MAY have changed over the last couple of years, but it is worth researching. Did a quick search, and I think it's still the policy.

that is still there! Done some research

But what there claiming is currys is an agent to cannon. So our camera is not covered by currys terms and conditions

but i know it is... as i paid currys our "contract" is with currys

 
Responsibility is with the retailer - not the manufacturer. I'd personally call them on this if it's gone over the 28 day period. They won't be happy to have to exchange it, and will try to get out of it no doubt.

All they keep telling me is they are not responsible and its the manufacturer that is responsible.

They are now also saying its down to wear and tear after 6 months :mad:

Really starting to wind me up though with it. As i quoted there terms and conditions, and there not willing to stick to there terms and conditions!
