Does anyone know how many amps a cylinder tank takes? Yes its fed off a 2.5 16 amp fuse

Depends, really

As Dave points out - an immersion will use a set amount - how much depends on a number of factors, including the number & type of immersion fitted.

A "standard" domestic immersion is, as Noz says, 3KW.

:)

I recon if it saw 1000 amps it would be an impressive bang :)
Yes but, it would warm up F quickly........and then suddenly stop warming up as critical mass had been achieved prematurely

Voltage may have an influence also along with temperature

Just ohming-in

so could i run a y plan controls and an imersion heater with a boiler all on the same 16 amp breaker its just ive seen the immeresion on its own circuit and the plan controls spured off the ring or 6 amp breaker off the board so both circuits are seperate?

Of course YOU could.

YOU could run the garage off the cooker circuit

YOU could run the shaver point off the shower circuit

As to whether any of the above options are electrically sound and safe is another natter.

Have a look in your OSG. H5

Cannot be arsed looking up the correct reg number as life is too short

Just sostories

read on site guide yes its a separate circuit right the isolation switch for immersion heater is it best being a double pole switch or switched spur with neon with the 2.5 heat resistant flex to the element. Im just thinking a switched fused spur (13 amp would blow)? with the immersion pulling 13.04 amps!

1.5 heat resistant flex would do it if you can find it

13.04 amps ???  you are in trouble mate lol

Well 3000 divide 230 is 13 amp I will put a sw spur on
