I've had the CIS Contractor's Returns Green form carp on hold for months as I'm not getting any jobs in these days that justify employing some help.

Lucky my missus takes care of all that otherwise i would be very poor by now, I know what you mean about filing a nil return though.

 
wonder what they would say if you sent them a 'fine' for not sending you some paperwork that they should have

then again, i think i already know what the response would be....

 
I have a friend who is a kitchen fitter who uses subbies as and when, he used the same gas fitter for 3 years and paid him by cheque through his business, his accountant never picked up the fact he should have been deducting tax at source until he got a call by hmrc who fined him for non compliance

 
If you don't file your cis return monthly you get a fine, yeah I know the issue I hate vat I am vat registered on other company's I own as they are retail so go over the limit soo much paper work

 
I've been waiting over a month for a VAT number...........
Me too until last week, asking for my limited company details, thing is Im not a limited company. Date on the letter 7th Decemeber, quote from letter 'this information must be received by november 11th or your application will be cancelled' Think I need to travel back in time! Going to ring them tomorrow

 
You can apply for vat number online as well, did mine before I went on holiday and had arrived before I got back.

 
If you take on subbies you have to file a monthly return even if you dont employ them that month if you don't file it you get a
