I really do not want to rain on anyones parade, but having a motor start after a failure, without user input is a very serious consideration. Hell fire I watched a movie recently, that was a send up of this very same problem. Automation is good for some installations but is very bad in others.

 
which is why i said to keep the existing controls feeding another contactor for the timer. if the is a problem with the motor, then it will make no difference if he presses the on button and walks away or if a timer does it. either way, overload should trip, in which case it would need manually re-set
