I can however direct you in the direction of a couple of useful organisations.
Govan Initiative... take on apprenticeship seekers but you need to be resident in Govan or have a relative resident in Govan. That is as much detail as I know.
They take on 16-18 year old's who have to attend their classes whilst Rathbone seek potential employers for them. I know of a few boys who have came through this process and they have a very good reputation. They give potential employers the chance to take on boys on a work experience basis with the possibility of it leading to a full apprenticeship.
If it isn't working out for either party (for whatever reason) the boy goes back to Rathbone (assuming you huvnae burnt oot the guys van!) where they will try to find a more suitable placement for you. Rathbone pay your wages with the employer topping them up at his/her discretion.
