Good job that was done by proffesional's. Amatures might have made a mess of it.
I think it’s the new version of the angled bit of non-weatherproof chipboard to stop the service having two 90° bends in it due to the utterly ***** design of the boxesThat’s a mess, never seen line taps used in the meter cabinet before, and why is the dno cut out not secured to the backboard.
When I was metering especially smart metering you need a lot of space with the Comms unit additional aerial if needed. I had to abort so many jobs because of cram packed equipment that should not have been there.I've read that some DNOs allow the upper right quarter to be used, but I doubt that extends to the use of line taps or tails and outgoing cables blocking most of the other 3/4. NIE specifically prohibit the installation of any equipment, although I've never known them to object to neat, unobtrusive installations.
I went looking for information after posting and it seems UKPN had been okay with that quarter being used, but the page now seems to have been removed from their website. When I was metering especially smart metering you need a lot of space with the Comms unit additional aerial if needed.
