Steptoe, I appreciate you taking the time to respond, but I thought the idea of the forum was to share knowledge, not just snipe from the sidelines. I think the issue of separation and earthing is very pertinent to Solar installations, particularly as these issues are not covered explicitly enough in the Regs for stand alone and backup solar systems, nor is it covered very well in the DTI PV installation guide- if you want an example read the latest wiring matters, it's not even clear if PV modules should be accepted as class2 any more! If you can shed light on the issues discussed please do.
