the existing cable is to short as she wants it repositiond, can i use speaker cable? i dont want to buy a ball of bell wire for the sake of 1m,

also any thing to watch out for? olr are the straight forward to fit?

thanks

If you do wire it in speaker wire the only thing that you would have to be careful of is...

... When the client has the radio on, the doorbell may ring.

I always use alarm cable for doorbells.
I am in concurrences with Batty on this one...

generally I have got a roll/part roll of 6-core alarm cable knocking around...

So I use that rather than using actually bell wire....

Think the last time I used bell wire was when Customer had bought a doorbell kit and asked me to install it while i was there...

Kit included a short coiled of bell wire! :Blushing ;)

All I can say is never try using an off cut of 10.0mmT&E...

its a sod to whittle down to poke in them small terminals in the back of the bell-push!
