I think the point is, not all DNO's allow you to do that.

I cannot imagine the note in the BGB about the DNO
alone removing it or someone nominated by that person
being revoked any time soon.

They can't even organise an isolating switch to be incorperated in the new so called " Smart-arse " meters.
I'd be surprised if that was allowed TBH .

Can't see it happening nationally.
pulling a fuse is not as simple as it sounds!
i once saw a cutout explode in the meter mans face , many moons ago!
There is also one make of cutout ( may be an ISCO 3 phase job by)....due to a design fault it can short out the incoming side when you drop the lid down.....KERRFECKINGBOOM. UND. BANGENENFLASHHEN)
DNO around here get a jointer to kill it first then swap the head!
