i have done some wiring to the house over the years taking in to the account the changes in the laws making sure i can do the work with out breaking the law

i have wanted to to the earth bonding for a while but never got round to it but a few days ago done the work i bonded all the pipes around the combi boiler both hot and cold and feed and return and the gas pipe and taken the bonding from the my side of the meter to the fuse board but here is the question

see pic i would like to conect the earth bonding to the opened fuze board but the earth strap to the earth block to me looks to small

so would it be better to connect to to the smaller of the two boards if you look at the earth cable to this newer board is i lot larger cable ?

i hope you can see the pic

cant see any pic... you should connect main bonding conductors to the MET (main earth terminal) where the main earth is connected. Otherwise in the main consumer unit.

If you are not confident or not competent for this type of work you should probably seek professional advice ( plenty of sparks on this forum and probably one not far away)

Welcome to the forum, pictures have not worked. I will just clarify, there have been no significant changes to the laws regarding electrical wiring for over seven years. So any work you have done since 2005 possibly may not comply legally. From the questions you are asking it sounds as though you do not fully understand the function or purpose of earthing and bonding within an electrical installation. The exact requirements will depend upon the type of suppliers earth facility, if one is provided, and the type of circuit protection fitted at you consumer unit. It is possible to introduce greater hazards to an installation by installing inappropriate earth bonding. I would suggest you get a professional electrician to come and evaluate exactly what you need to ensure adequate safety protection.

What size earth have you used ? As Doc H. stated, it is not always necessary to cross bond boiler pipes, eg, regulation 701.415.2 of the 17th edition IEE Wiring Regulations.

photobucket is usually a good way to add pics, or upload directly,

linking to pics on another forum isnt really a very good idea, is it?

BTW,

as has been said earlier, simply adding extra bonding can sometimes be more dangerous than it is good,

it really does depend on numerous factors.

If you look bottom right you will see a box (More reply Options) click this and then scroll down to see this

follow the instructions, add to post, and your picture should be uploaded for all to see.

On your post that Manator moderated with another forums link you stated "and all work done was before 2005 kitchen and bathroom all i have done since then is a few sockets" Prior to 2005 it was still a requirement of BS7671 wiring regulations to verify earthing and bonding are all adequate before undertaking any alterations, temporary or permanent. On the face of it, it sounds as though you have approached these alterations back to front and probably your fuse box does not have full RCD protection, as it is not 17th edition compliant, because no significant work done since 2005? As such for your own safety, it would still be wise to get a competent person round to check and verify the full earthing and bonding arrangements. Incorrect earthing and bonding can be the difference between a fatal electric shock and no shock. As an additional question re your links to another forum, do I take it this other forum is unable to answer your question?

Well, I can see a picture but it's far too blury to be able to make anything out I'm afraid!
Prob best you can't see it, rcd as main switch, cables entering top of one cu with big holes round them, outer insulation cut from tails going in to connector blocks, all in a external meter box too.
