Hi guys

First post on here so here goes....

Im currently taking the 2365 ( level 2) qualification and I'm after some advice on the ecs cards.

Im looking for some shadowing work and I was wondering if a ecs card would be require for shadowing, and not only that but how would a ecs card work under my circumstance. I don't work in the trade so would I need a labours card or could I go for a trainee card???

Any response would be much appreciated,

Thank you

Depends who you are shadowing and where they are working. If on a site that reqiures CSCS / ECS then you will need one oof those. As for card grade; with ECS, proof of you currently studying an electrial qualification may get you a trainee card. Otherwise, it will be an Ancillary Operative.

To be honest it's probably not worth faffing with trainee, it gets you no better stance on site. To the big guys, your either an electrician....... or not!

If whoever you work with just does private stuff, chances are you won't need a card at all.

If you're looking to work on construction sites  then you'll need a card , as said above .

However , you don't need one to work on industrial and domestic jobs.

Wouldn't just a CSCS card do ?
